DUBAI – The Dubai Sports Council and the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus have discussed the prospects of increasing and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Dubai and Belarus in the field of sports in the coming period.

This came during a visit by HE Igor Bondarev, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Dubai, to the headquarters of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), where he met with Mr Nasser Aman Al Rahma, the Assistant Secretary General of DSC, and discussed areas of possible cooperation between Dubai and Belarus.

Al Rahma explained to the Consul General about DSC’s Sports Events Ranking System, a unique home-grown event ranking system that encourages and rewards excellence in the organisation of sports events. The Assistant Secretary General also presented a copy of the latest Dubai Sports Events Guide, which lists all the major sporting events that will be held in Dubai from 2019 to 2030, and explained the challenges DSC faced in putting the guide together.

The Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Dubai expressed his happiness with what he saw during his visit to the Council's headquarters and lauded the Council for its effort in spreading sport among the community and in organizing various community, local, regional and international events.

The Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Dubai also expressed his desire to enhance cooperation between the two sides and using their expertise for enhancing the sports sector.
