Dubai:Internationally acclaimed danseuse and National award winning Indian actor, Shobana, returns to Dubai after a gap. This time, with a brand new show ‘BHAV’ featuring one of India’s most sought after classical vocalists Abhishek Raghuram along with percussionist Anantha R Krishnan, Satya on the Keyboard and the hugely talented dancers from Kalarpana, Shobana’s renowned dance school in Chennai (India). After playing to packed houses and garnering rave reviews in India, ‘BHAV’ is set to awe audiences in the UAE on Saturday, 27 th April with one show only at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School (Oud Metha).

Presented by Tambourine Live, curators of the finest performing art shows in India and the Middle East, ‘BHAV’ is a confluence of live music, dance and theatre. Talking about the show ahead of her visit to Dubai, Shobana said, “BHAV is the result of my artistic collaboration with prodigal Carnatic vocalist Abhishek Raghuram. We had a shared goal to make Music for Dance and Dance for Music. The concept of this production is born from Indian mythology. It will innovate unvisited magical realms of classicism and yet confine to the mother Book of Indian dramaturgy - Natyasasthra - the primeval source of all entertainment.”

An actor with over 200 films to her credit, Shobana emerged as an independent performer and choreographer in her twenties. Her innovative dance-theatre productions including Trance, Krishna and Maya Ravan are modern classics that have toured the globe. In a similar genre, BHAV is poised for a grand opening in Dubai.
