Dubai: The UAE Journalists Association organized the "We Create" event at its headquarters in Dubai, as part of its new "Hemma" project dedicated to people of determination.
The event, held in collaboration with Omi First Library, saw widespread participation from children and their families, along with teachers, supervisors, and volunteers, in an atmosphere brimming with creativity and community solidarity.
This event is the first of its kind under the "Hemm" project, launched by the association in partnership with Omi First Library and WeDance Foundation. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the "Year of Community" and efforts to promote the inclusion of people of determination and stimulate their latent skills.
The event featured live art workshops titled "We Create," where children with disabilities expressed their artistic talents and energies in a stimulating and interactive atmosphere, under the supervision of talented artists and volunteers who provided support and assistance to the participants.
The event was attended by representatives from the Women's Renaissance Association, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, the Dubai Center for People of Determination, and the Al Noor Center for Rehabilitation of People of Determination, along with a number of associations and private entities that support social responsibility.
In her speech at the event, Fadhila Al Muaini, Chairperson of the Emirates Journalists Association, emphasized that the "Himam" project falls within the framework of the association's commitment to supporting, empowering, and integrating people of determination into various aspects of life. She noted that these unique initiatives contribute to building a cohesive and humane society and reflect the association's commitment to strengthening community partnerships and achieving financial sustainability.
Al-Muaini called on national entities, both public and private, to support the "Humum" project and participate in its implementation. She noted that the association's doors are open for cooperation with various relevant institutions within the framework of a series of events, training, and media programs included within the project, which aim to develop the skills of people of determination and enable them to express themselves and participate effectively in society.
Dr. Nawal Benzoua, Director of Omi First Library, emphasized the importance of these workshops in developing the skills of people of determination, noting their role in enhancing their ability to express themselves and participate in cultural and educational activities through sustainable initiatives.
During the event, participating children, volunteers, and supporting entities were honored amid an atmosphere of joy and appreciation. "We Create" marks a bright start to a continuing journey of giving and empowerment within the "Hemma" project.
