Dubai Police Allocates Over AED 1 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Inmates in Q1 2025

Dubai: His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, commended the significant role played by the General Department of Correctional and Punitive Establishments in rehabilitating and reforming inmates, helping them prepare for a fresh start upon completing their sentences. 

Lt. General highlighted the department’s impactful humanitarian initiatives, particularly its financial and in-kind support to deserving cases. During the first quarter of this year, the department provided humanitarian assistance totalling AED 1,156,220, enabling the resolution of financial cases and the reunification of several inmates with their families.

These remarks came as Lt. General Al Marri chaired the Q1 2025 performance review meeting of the General Department of Correctional and Punitive Establishments. The meeting was attended by Major General Harib Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs; Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation; Major General Marwan Abdul Karim Jalfar, Director of the General Department of Correctional and Punitive Establishments; Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of the General Department for Excellence and Leadership; Brigadier Salah Bu Osaiba, Deputy Director of the General Department of Correctional and Punitive Establishments; Colonel Ahmad Al Muhairi, Acting Director of the Department of Inspection, Councils, Committees and Task Forces; and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Abdulrazzaq Abdulrahim, Head of the Inspection Section, along with several senior officers.

During the meeting, Lt. General Al Marri was briefed on the department’s strategic indicators, notable achievements, planned future projects, and the performance outcomes of its various subdivisions during the first quarter.

Major General Marwan Jalfar affirmed that the quarterly review is crucial in enhancing operational performance, addressing challenges, and refining future project plans. He emphasised that such meetings contribute to implementing a cohesive work methodology and driving forward development strategies to effectively achieve the department’s objectives.
