Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief Chairs First Hemaya Schools Board of Trustees Meeting

Dubai: His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, presided over the inaugural meeting of the Board of Trustees for Hemaya Schools for Education and Training.
The session was attended by Major General Ahmad Mohammed Rafie, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administrative Affairs; Major General Ali Ghanim, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Community Happiness and Logistics; Brigadier Badran Al Shamsi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academic and Training Affairs, along with other board members.
The board discussed key agenda items, including a review of previous decisions and upcoming initiatives for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Among the highlights was the “Student Imprint” competition, which aims to inspire students to develop innovative community-based projects addressing challenges in education, environmental sustainability, health, and volunteerism. The competition will be held entirely online, enabling participation from students across different regions, and will include training sessions and dedicated support for standout initiatives.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Suwaidi, board secretary, provided a detailed overview of the 2025 Hemaya Schools graduation ceremony, including projected numbers of graduates and attendees. He also outlined a new initiative titled “Hemaya Innovators” that will designate a space for students at the Research and Development Centre to explore and nurture their talents through hands-on projects in various fields.
The meeting also addressed Hemaya Schools’ outstanding performance in the national “Aoun Award for Community Service,” where they secured 11 accolades in the 2024–2025 cycle. These included six institutional awards, one award for a parent, two professional-level awards and two student awards reflecting the school’s emphasis on civic engagement and national identity.
Additionally, the board reviewed the results of the School Sports Championships, where Hemaya students earned 22 medals across football, jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, and judo.
Concluding the meeting, Lieutenant General Al Marri honoured student Saif Omar Mohsen for winning the “Outstanding Student – Grade 10” category in the prestigious Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence.
