Dubai Police Marks World Teachers’ Day

Dubai: Dubai Police, represented by the Hemaya Council, the Students’ Scholarship Council, the Positive Spirit Council, and Hemaya Schools, celebrated World Teachers’ Day, observed annually on 5 October.
The ceremony was attended by Brigadier Dr Abdulrahman Sharaf Al Maamari, Director of the International Hemaya Centre, Captain Hamad Saeed, Chairman of the Students’ Scholarship Council, Ms Fatima Buhjair, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council, along with more than 200 teachers from various universities and schools across Dubai, and several officers.
Honouring Educators
Brigadier Dr Al Maamari congratulated teachers on the occasion, emphasising Dubai Police’s deep appreciation for their noble mission in educating and nurturing generations that contribute to the nation’s development. He described teachers as beacons of knowledge who illuminate the path for future generations and instil values and ethics in young minds.
He added that teachers have played a vital role in achieving the vision of the wise leadership, which places great importance on education as the cornerstone of a sustainable and progressive society. “On this day, we express our gratitude and admiration to all teachers for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to raising future leaders,” he said.
Building an Aware Generation
Brigadier Dr Al Maamari further highlighted that teachers are the cornerstone in creating a conscious and responsible generation capable of facing future challenges and contributing to national ambitions. Their role, he said, extends beyond classrooms, as they act as mentors and supporters, inspiring students to think critically and creatively while fostering human values.
Valuing the Teaching Profession
Captain Hamad Saeed reaffirmed the high status teachers enjoy in the UAE, where they receive full care and support through an enabling environment that allows them to fulfil their educational mission. He noted that this commitment reflects the vision of the leadership, which has always placed teachers at the forefront of society in recognition of their invaluable contributions. “Through their knowledge and expertise, teachers form the foundation of quality education, motivating students to pursue learning and knowledge throughout their lives,” he said.
Positive Spirit
Ms Fatima Buhjair extended her heartfelt congratulations to teachers, stressing the importance of honouring them as an expression of gratitude for their vital role in shaping future generations. She explained that this celebration falls within the Positive Spirit initiative, which seeks to promote happiness and positivity among all members of society, both citizens and residents.
Panel Discussion and Recognition
The celebration also featured a discussion session on the teacher’s role in identifying behavioural challenges and shaping students’ awareness to address them effectively.
At the end of the event, Brigadier Dr Abdulrahman Sharaf, accompanied by Captain Hamad Saeed and Ms Fatima Buhjair, honoured the teachers and wished them continued success in their professional journey.
