Dubai: As the UAE marks its 54th National Day this year, we come together in celebration of our nation’s enduring unity, shared purpose, and forward-looking vision. This occasion honors the foundational legacy of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and reflects the steadfast leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

In 2025, UAE’s economic transformation continued to scale up. In the first quarter, non‑oil economic activities accounted for a historic 77.3% of GDP, according to the Federal Competitiveness & Statistics Centre. Real GDP grew by 3.9%, powered by strong growth in manufacturing, finance, construction, and real estate, with healthcare remaining a strong pillar for growth and contribution to the overall GDP.

These figures reflect deepening economic diversification as part of the “We the UAE 2031” vision, reinforcing the country’s status as a global destination for innovation, investment, healthcare and entrepreneurship.

At Aster, our commitment to UAE’s Vision 2031 and Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 remains unwavering. In line with the country’s mission to make world-class healthcare infrastructure locally available, our integrated network of 10 hospitals, 113 clinics, 298 pharmacies and super-app myAster are ensuring that we have of best standards of international care easily accessible for patients and customers in UAE. We are also strengthening our capacity to serve more patients in the country through two new hospitals which would be launched shortly, adding another 250 beds, while creating job opportunities for 675+ doctors, nurses and staff.  

In line with the UAE’s vision for innovation, artificial intelligence and digital technologies are transforming healthcare. At Aster, we are advancing this vision through our AI-enabled myAster super app, teleconsultation services, digital patient engagement platforms, and remote monitoring solutions, improving accessibility, efficiency, and personalised care for patients across the UAE.

At the heart of our sustainability and social responsibility drive in the UAE, Aster DM Healthcare has advanced its ESG initiatives across multiple facilities. Renewable energy projects — including solar PV systems at Aster Cedars, Medcare Speciality Hospital Al Safa, and Aster Hospital Al Qusais — generated 1,340 MWh of clean energy, reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 541 tCO₂e. Beyond energy, we recycled over 138,000 kg of waste and reduced water consumption by nearly 10,000 kilolitres across five hospitals.
Our Aster Volunteers program continues to advance community health through mobile medical services, treatment aid, digital healthcare access, disaster response, and awareness campaigns. In 2024–25, it reached over 6.46 million beneficiaries globally, conducted 11,233 wellness camps, served 720,000 patients through 52 mobile clinics across 17 countries, and trained over 322,788 individuals in Basic Life Support, reinforcing our commitment to socially responsible, inclusive healthcare aligned with SDG 3(Good Health and Wellbeing).
