Dubai Police Showcases Six Sigma Projects and Continuous Improvement at Third Edition Forum

Dubai: His Excellency Dr Major General Ahmad Zaal Bin Krishan Almuhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Financial and Administrative Sector Affairs, attended the opening of the third edition of the Six Sigma Success Stories Forum at the Dubai Police Officers Club.
The event brought together assistant commanders, general department directors, employees, and a group of experts specialising in artificial intelligence, quality, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies.
In his remarks, Almuhairi said the forum reflects Dubai Police’s ongoing focus on strengthening excellence practices and embedding continuous improvement across its work system. He noted that Dubai Police’s long-standing journey of innovation has been built on development and improvement tools that helped shape a policing model recognised globally.
He also highlighted the importance of applying the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who emphasised that continuous improvement is a core habit of government work and that every system can be improved
Almuhairi praised the forum’s content for supporting knowledge sharing and the exchange of experience in Six Sigma and workplace development, especially as organisations adapt to the rapid changes driven by artificial intelligence.
The forum opened with a lecture by Dr Mohammad Qasim, Dean of the Dubai Future Academy, on the future of artificial intelligence and robotics. He discussed the significant shifts AI is bringing to institutions and how it can strengthen quality methodologies and continuous improvement.
Mousa Faisal, Senior Vice President of Operations Research & Effectiveness (OR&E) at Emirates, delivered a presentation on Emirates Airline’s approach to managing institutional excellence, sharing how advanced management frameworks can translate into measurable success and stronger competitiveness.
International expert Luis Quelhas, Senior Director – Kaizen Institute Middle East & Western Europe, spoke about Kaizen culture as a smart way to manage business, explaining how daily improvement steps can transform performance from average to world class
Dr Mahmoud Awad from the American University of Sharjah presented a session on Six Sigma in the age of artificial intelligence, focusing on how classic quality approaches and modern automation and smart data analysis together are shaping new tools for improvement and development
The forum also featured presentations of improvement projects delivered by specialists and experts. These included a rapid screening project to detect drug use by the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology, presented by Amina Ibrahim Al Bshalaat. Another project focused on reducing injuries during physical education classes, presented by Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Rashid Al Suwaidi and expert Yousuf Mohammad Ibrahim, highlighting its role in improving safety standards and reducing injuries in the school environment.
In addition, the forum reviewed a project to accelerate chromatographic detection of narcotic substances, also under the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology, presented by expert Asmaa Mohammad Saleh and engineer Ahood Yousuf Ahmed Al Ali.
At the end of the forum, His Excellency Major General Ahmad Zaal Bin Krishan Almuhairi honoured the speakers and project presenters, thanking them for the valuable insights shared with attendees.
