Sharjah greenlights team’s Formula 1 Powerboat Championship plan

Sharjah: Sharjah Marine Sports Club has approved its team’s participation program in the 2026 Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship, coming after the announcement of the new season’s schedule, which includes 7 rounds to be held in 5 countries.
The team is starting the season with ambitions, encouraged by its outstanding results last season: first and third place in the final round hosted by Khalid Lagoon in Sharjah, and third place in the overall standings.

For the first time, the Sharjah team will compete with three boats, led by Canadian Rusty White, ranked third among competitors, along with Estonian Stefan Arand, ranked fourth, and Australian Grand Trask, who finished second in the Sharjah round last year.

The season will kick off in Cagliari, Italy, from May 29 to 31, and after that, it will head to Kyrgyzstan for the second round on Lake Issyk-Kul from July 31 to August 2.

The tournament will continue in China with two rounds on September 25-27 and October 3-4 before moving to Jeddah to host the next round from November 27-29.

The sixth round will be held in one of the Middle Eastern countries from December 11 to 13, with the location to be determined later.

Finally, the championship will conclude with the “Road to Sharjah – Sharjah Grand Prix” round on Khalid Lagoon from December 18 to 20, as part of the 25th edition of the event.
