Doha: The Government of India has appointed Shri Vipul (IFS: 1998) as the next Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Shri Vipul is currently serving as India’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar. According to an official announcement, he will assume his new diplomatic assignment in Saudi Arabia shortly.

A career diplomat belonging to the 1998 batch of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Vipul has held several important positions during his diplomatic career and has played a key role in strengthening India’s relations with countries in the Gulf region.

His appointment comes at a time when India and Saudi Arabia continue to expand cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, investment, energy, technology, defense, and people-to-people ties.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that Shri Vipul is expected to take up his responsibilities in Riyadh in the near future, succeeding the current envoy and further advancing the growing strategic partnership between India and Saudi Arabia.
