Dubai Police Enhances Security and Traffic Awareness Through \'Al Rashidiya Community Forum\'

Dubai: Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Interior, the Dubai Police, represented by the Positive Spirit Council and Al Rashidiya Police Station, in cooperation with the General Department of Community Happiness, organised the Al Rashidiya Community Forum. The initiative is part of efforts to strengthen social cohesion and embed the values of tolerance, happiness, and quality of life among community members.

The forum, which targeted residents of Al Rashidiya area and their families, was attended by over 483 people from various age groups in a family‑friendly atmosphere that combined awareness, entertainment, and community interaction – reflecting Dubai Police's vision of enhancing community partnership and strengthening bonds between community members, coinciding with the Year of the Family.

Ms. Fatima Ahmed Buhajeer, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council and Head of the Cultural Diversity Section at the General Department of Community Happiness, affirmed that organising the Al Rashidiya Community Forum is part of a series of community forums and initiatives that the Council is keen to implement in collaboration with strategic partners. “The aim is to strengthen direct communication with community members and provide a positive environment that combines awareness and entertainment,” she added.

Activities & Programmes
The forum included sports competitions in basketball, volleyball, and badminton, which contributed to fostering a spirit of positive competition and teamwork among participants. It also featured various entertainment and cultural competitions for the public, along with raffle draws and prizes that saw great interaction and turnout from attendees.

The forum also enhanced attendees' awareness of traffic law compliance, public safety, human rights, communication channels, and various types of fraud. It also highlighted the 'Victim Support' service from the General Department of Police Stations, and the reporting of cybercrimes via the e‑Crime platform from the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

Additionally, the General Department of Operations participated in raising awareness about the importance of contacting 999 for emergencies only and 901 for non‑emergency cases and general inquiries. Dubai Police's security, criminal, and traffic services available through the Dubai Police smart app and website, including the 'Police Eye' service, were also introduced to attendees.
