Dubai: Dubai Police, represented by the ‘Schools Security’ initiative and in cooperatio with the Hemaya International Centre, launched the second edition of the ‘Future Security Leaders’ programme as part of Dubai Police's annual summer courses. The programme aims to develop security awareness among students, strengthen their safety culture, and instil leadership values—helping to prepare an aware generation capable of meeting future challenges.

First Lieutenant Maryam Essa Sanqoor, Acting Head of the Schools Security Initiative, said the programme targeted 900 male and female students and focused on three main pillars: enhancing security awareness of current challenges, preparing students to face future changes through continuous learning, and developing leadership qualities and skills that enable them to take responsibility and contribute to safety and security in society.

She explained that the programme included a series of educational activities and field visits to various Dubai Police departments, introducing students to police work, the roles of different departments, and topics such as criminal security, traffic safety, and community responsibility.

Lt. Sanqoor added that Dubai Police places great importance on investing in young people by launching awareness and educational initiatives for students in government and private schools. “This strengthens partnerships with educational institutions and fosters a culture of prevention and security awareness from an early age,” she added.

The field visits included tours of the Dubai Police Museum, the 901 Call Centre, and the Smart Police Station (SPS), where students learned about smart police services, communication channels, and public services. They were also introduced to the luxury patrol fleet and the modern technologies Dubai Police utilizes to enhance security and safety across the emirate.

The programme concluded with a ceremony honouring the students, who received commemorative gifts in recognition of their participation and engagement. Dubai Police wished them continued success in their educational journey, hoping that they would become ambassadors of security awareness and active leaders in their communities.
