Dubai: His Excellency Major General Dr. Ahmed Zaal bin Kerishan Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander‑in‑Chief for Financial and Administrative Affairs at Dubai Police, presented badges of appreciation to two members of the Positive Spirit Council – Sergeant Omar Muslim Aflatoon and First Corporal Ahmed Mohammed Salem – in recognition of their outstanding contributions to Positive Spirit events. The policemen demonstrated exceptional skills in enhancing communication with various nationalities and raising awareness about Dubai Police services and UAE laws.

Major General Dr. Ahmed Zaal praised the two policemen for their dedication, commitment to knowledge transfer, and efforts to raise awareness about police services as part of the Positive Spirit Council team, which began as an initiative in 2017. He commended their strong community engagement skills and ability to connect with people from various nationalities, particularly as each of them speaks four languages – which supports Dubai Police's goals of strengthening communication with all segments of society, bringing happiness to the community, and reinforcing security and safety.

The event was attended by Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness, and Ms. Fatima Buhajeer, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council.

Sergeant Omar Aflatoon has captured attention during events organised by the Positive Spirit Council across Dubai, thanks to his proficiency in four languages: Arabic, English, Urdu, and Bengali. He now delivers awareness lectures to speakers of these languages from various nationalities, particularly on traffic matters, identifying the challenges they face, and working with relevant authorities to find appropriate solutions.

Meanwhile, First Corporal Ahmed Mohammed Salem speaks four languages: German, Hindi, Arabic, and English. He has used his skills to educate various communities on the proper ways to contact Dubai Police – using 999 for the Command and Control Centre only in emergencies, and 901 for non‑emergency cases and police services.

First Corporal Ahmed Mohammed Salem regularly participates in Positive Spirit Council events, delivering awareness sessions to various communities. In addition, he works at the Command and Control Centre, with experience in rapid response to emergency reports, coordinating with patrols and ambulance services to save lives, provide care, and handle various humanitarian cases.

The two policemen expressed their pride in being honoured by the Dubai Police General Command with the badges of appreciation, affirming their continued commitment to contributing to Dubai Police's goals of enhancing security and safety and bringing happiness to community members.
