Dubai Police’s ‘School Security’ Announces Readiness for the New Academic Year

Dubai: Dubai Police General Command, through its "School Security" initiative, has completed its preparations for the return of students to their classrooms for the new 2026-2027 academic year, wishing students, teaching and administrative staff, and parents a year filled with excellence and success.

Comprehensive Security and Traffic Plan
Dubai Police has confirmed its readiness for the new academic year through a fully integrated security, traffic, and awareness plan, developed in coordination with strategic partners. The plan aims to ensure a safe return for students and enhance traffic safety and flow, particularly during peak hours. It includes the deployment of 253 security and traffic patrols to secure school perimeters, 28 drones to monitor traffic and key locations, 4 luxury patrols, 5 mounted patrols, and 65 bicycles to strengthen field presence. In addition, 217 students from the Safety Ambassadors programme will take part, alongside 30 awareness programmes involving 16 partner entities, and 775 police personnel will engage directly with students

Integration Efforts
Captain Majid Al Kaabi, Head of the "School Security" initiative, emphasised its commitment to creating a safer, more interactive educational environment through a range of initiatives targeting students and educational staff in both public and private schools across the emirate. These include the “International Hemaya Centre”, the “Positive Spirit Council”, the "School Security" initiative, the "Safety Ambassadors" programme, and the "Naseej" initiative. “Together, these efforts reflect the integration of community and security roles in instilling values of discipline and awareness among students, and in building a positive generation capable of facing future challenges,” he added.

Capt. Al Kaabi commended the efforts of all government and private entities involved in welcoming the new academic year, praising their collaborative, one-team approach to ensuring the highest levels of safety and security for students.

19 Awareness Events
Dubai Police noted that the activities accompanying the first day of school will include 19 events organised by 16 awareness entities under the "School Security" initiative. They indicated that the initiative aims to enhance school security, strengthen cooperation with teaching staff, prevent any negative phenomena affecting the community, and build trust between community members and the police. Furthermore, the Force highlighted that activities will include traffic safety guidance, encouraging students to use designated crossing points, familiarising students with Dubai Police services and communication channels, as well as entertainment activities and the distribution of gifts and stationery to students.

Dubai Police reaffirmed that the safety and well-being of students is a shared responsibility, one that requires the integrated efforts of police, schools, families, and the wider community to create a safe and stimulating educational environment that fosters excellence.
