Dubai: Dubai Police concluded its participation in the eighth edition of AccessAbilities Expo 2026, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, after three eventful days during which several initiatives were launched to serve people of determination. These initiatives aim to enhance community inclusion, consolidate the concept of empowerment, and support building a society that believes in capabilities, embraces aspirations, and provides opportunities for all.

"Determination Challenge": Awareness in an Innovative Style

Dubai Police highlighted the "Determination Challenge" game, presented by the People of Determination Empowerment Council, as one of the interactive awareness initiatives that combine knowledge, competition, and community education. It aims to introduce the services and facilities provided by Dubai Police to people of determination, and to enhance public awareness of the correct ways to interact with them according to the nature of their disabilities and different needs.

The game is based on a knowledge competition between two players, featuring a set of 20 interactive questions daily. These address police services dedicated to people of determination and the channels for obtaining them, along with positive practices for communicating and interacting with people with hearing, visual, physical, mental, and other disabilities.

Awareness Through Competition

The "Determination Challenge" game is distinguished by going beyond the concept of traditional competitions, offering simplified knowledge and training content similar to a mini awareness course, allowing participants to acquire basic information and skills about the etiquette of interacting with people of determination, ways to provide appropriate assistance to them, respecting their privacy and independence, and avoiding wrong practices that may constitute an obstacle to their community inclusion.

The game also serves as a marketing and awareness platform for the smart services and initiatives that Dubai Police provides to people of determination, helping to raise awareness of these services and encouraging the public to benefit from them and share this knowledge with their families and communities.

The initiative reflects an innovative direction in community awareness methods by transforming information and guidance into an enjoyable educational experience, in which the visitor is an active participant in acquiring knowledge, rather than merely receiving information through traditional means.

Therapeutic Horse Riding Training Programme Reaches 765 Beneficiaries

Dubai Police’s stand displayed the Therapeutic Horse Riding Training Programme, implemented by the Mounted Police Station, as one of the humanitarian and rehabilitation initiatives aimed at supporting people of determination and various social cases through therapeutic and rehabilitation activities using horses, within a safe and equipped environment that takes into account the needs of beneficiaries.

Dubai Police highlighted that approximately 765 therapeutic cases have benefited from the programme since its launch, including children of determination and various social cases, while the satisfaction rate of beneficiaries' parents with the programme's results reached 100%, an indicator that reflects families' satisfaction with the services provided.

The programme aims to contribute to developing motor skills, improving balance and physical coordination, enhancing communication and social interaction skills, and supporting self-confidence, including providing rehabilitation activities for children with autism spectrum disorder, according to their individual needs and the assessment of specialists.

Qualified Staff and Dedicated Equipment

The "Therapeutic Horse Riding Training Programme" is delivered under the supervision of a team of specialists and qualified staff at the Mounted Police Station, using horses and equipment dedicated to the programme and designed to meet safety requirements and the needs of beneficiaries, ensuring that sessions are delivered in an organised and supportive environment.

The programme reflects a humanitarian approach in police work that goes beyond traditional security duties to contribute to supporting community rehabilitation, harnessing the capabilities and resources available to Dubai Police and employing them to serve People of Determination and their families.

Strengthening Rehabilitation Through Strategic Partnership

As part of its efforts to develop rehabilitation programmes and enhance their sustainability, Dubai Police recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Club for People of Determination, aimed at enhancing joint cooperation, exchanging expertise and developing therapeutic horse riding training programmes, thereby contributing to expanding the reach of the initiative and raising the quality of services provided to people of determination.

This partnership reflects Dubai Police's direction towards building an integrated system of institutional cooperation with specialised entities, leveraging shared expertise and capabilities to develop high-quality, sustainable rehabilitation initiatives that support people of determination and enhance their community participation and quality of life.

During the three-day exhibition, Dubai Police's stand showcased the "Himmah X" smart bag, equipped with assistive technologies for people of determination within the "Ferrari Mansory" patrol. It also featured the "Our Touch Creates Art" initiative, organised by the Positive Spirit Council in cooperation with the People of Determination Empowerment Council, which allowed children and adults from among people of determination to complete their artistic and craft works directly before the public.

The stand also featured the "Little Translator" initiative with the participation of students from Hemaya Schools, alongside an introduction to Esaad card services, police dog shows and other initiatives that reflect Dubai Police's commitment to employing innovation, awareness and community partnerships in developing comprehensive and sustainable services for people of determination.
