Dubai: Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today led a UAE delegation to the Republic of Iraq to participate in the ‘Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership’.

The Conference, which was aimed at easing regional tensions in the Middle East, explored a wide-range of security, political and economic issues as well as cooperation to combat terrorism.

Upon his arrival at the Baghdad International Airport, HH Sheikh Mohammed and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, Prime Minister of Iraq, and a group of Iraqi ministers and senior officials.

On the sidelines of the conference, His Highness met with the Emir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during which they exchanged views on the conference and its anticipated outcomes that are geared towards serving the lasting security and stability of Iraq.

HH Sheikh Mohammed and HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in order to serve mutual development and progress, and achieve the common interests of the two brotherly countries.

HH Sheikh Mohammed also met with the Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah and discussed fraternal relations and ways of boosting cooperation.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation comprising His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; HE Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; HE Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; HE Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to UAE President; HE Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Chairman of Protocols for the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE; and HE Salem Issa Qattam, UAE Ambassador to Iraq.
