Dubai Police receives Security Delegation from Netherlands

Dubai: Dubai Police has recently received a security delegation from the Netherlands within the framework of sharing knowledge and experience between both sides.

At the Dubai General HQ, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, H.E Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri welcomed the delegation which was headed by Hanneke Ekelmans, Chief Constable and member of the Force Command of the Netherlands Police, and Hendrikus Wilhelmus Maria Schoof, Secretary-General at the Ministry of Justice and Security.

Lt. Gen. Al Marri and the Dutch delegation discussed a number of common interests in the fields of security and policing including ways to cement cooperation and coordination between both sides.

The Netherlands delegation included: Lody Embrechts, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UAE; Dr. Carel Richter, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dubai and the Northern Emirates; Lisette Heerze, Head of the Netherlands Police Department of International Cooperation.

Lt. Gen. Al Marri accompanied the delegation to the Command and Control Centre where they were briefed about the latest services and initiatives that enhance security and safety in the emirate. They also learned about the centre’s equipment and latest additions such as the 3D map that covers Dubai and the patrols dispatching system that ensures swift and efficient response to reports and emergency calls.

During the visit, the delegation also learned about the force’s "Smart Security Prediction" system that foresees crimes and analyses criminal data. The system is within the framework of Dubai Police’s keenness to foresee the future and reduce crime by using mathematical, predictive analytics and other analytical techniques in law enforcement to identify potential criminal activities.

Hanneke Ekelmans and the accompanying delegation also visited the Government Initiatives Councils Complex that hosts nine councils established by Dubai Police to support the general and sub-departments of Dubai Police and come up with new and qualitative initiatives in line with the government's objectives and vision.

Towards the end of the visit, officials of both sides exchanged commemorative shields and photos.
