Charity Match to support Education to the Under Privileged

Dubai: Dubai on Friday witnessed “Cricket for Cause - Season 2” organized with an intention to provide financial aid towards education for the under privileged children in India.

Season-1 conducted last year was organized by Jain Sewa Mission (a sewa arm of the 5000 people strong Jain community in UAE) and in this season, Echope charity joins hands with Jain Sewa Mission (JSM) to support the education of underprivileged and disabled children in India. Echope has its support projects running in the areas of education, women and girl's empowerment, livelihood generation and environment preservation in various cities and rural areas of India.

This time the event was even bigger with 6 teams, more than 60 players and 5 sponsors. The funds generated from this friendly match will go towards serving the following beneficiaries in India-

1. Shri Raj Saubhag Ashirvad Trust for disabled in Gujarat - is a center for training children who have mental and physical disabilities. The trust provides day care and a resource center, medical intervention, therapies and vocational training to the differently abled children. We wish to extend our support to 45 children for a year, towards their education, rehabilitation, and independence.

2.Rashtriya Pragya Drishti Sansthaan , Delhi, supports blind children towards competing their education; training (Braille, mobility, shorthand and computers) and finding employment so that they can be self-reliant. Youth from all over India comes to write the 10th and 12th board examinations. This center supports them with housing, food, proxy writers and logistics so that the candidates can successfully write their papers. We are together in this to assist 90 candidates this year to complete this milestone successfully.

3. Pehchaan – The Street School in Delhi-NCR recognizes the need for basic education and vocational training for slum children. In 21st century, computer literacy is a survival tool and we want to empower these young adults with a job driven computer literacy program, which will enhance their prospects for a livelihood. We plan to set up a basic technology center, which hopes to provide job relevant training to approx. 450 young aspirants in a year.

“You educate a family or member, then you are helping them sustain their family and it helps generations down the road. We wanted to be responsive instead of being reactive and do our best in providing the best. We believe in the saying of ‘One and One makes eleven’ and thus we wish to Echo the Hope of many who are in need. Our aim is to have sustainable effects of our actions in the long run in terms of improving lives of underprivileged” – Kaushik, Echope Charity.

Committed to environment safety, Echope pledges for environment safety and all the players in the tournament joined hands with Echope in pledging to reduce plastic usage. In addition, Echope plants a sampling in India in name of every person who took the pledge of environment safety.

“Spirit of India is always reflected in cricket and it’s a privilege being part of this noble cause. Indian consulate welcomes such cause, and we wish Echope reaches out many who are looking for help.” - Tadu mamu, Consul (Labour), Dubai.

Some rural parts of India still struggle to fetch water for basic needs and spend hours of time in carrying them to home from a far place. Echope plans for a Walkathon in near future; for water wellness aimed to provide ‘Water Wheels’, a solution to ease these long hours of fetching water thereby saving time wherein young boys and girls can spend some time for education.

If this ticks your nerve to serve society, Echope welcomes your support to turn someone’s dreams into a reality. You can join Echope family by writing on [email protected] and join hands to create a world of equal opportunities for everyone!
