Distinctive Conclusion for the 12th \'Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament\'

Dubai: The 12th edition of “Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament”, the biggest of its kind, was successfully concluded on Wednesday 30th Oct. 2024.

The Tournament was organized by Dubai Sports Council (DSC) with remarkable participation of 1200 female players from various governmental, semi-governmental & private entities.

“Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament” aims to attract women sports talents and to popularize the culture of the exercise of women sport.

Participants in the Tournament competed in 8 individual & team sports competitions; these were: bowling, running, cycling, padel, badminton, shooting, obstacles challenge along with 3 × 3 basketball competition.

Dubai Police won 1st place in the 3 × 3 basketball competition, which was held at Al-Nasr Sports Club, followed by Dubai Municipality in the 2nd place and Dubai Customs in the 3rd place.

Dubai Police has also won 1st & 2nd places of the obstacles challenge competition, took place at the Gravity Club in Al-Quoz. In this regard, the Team of Shahad Younos, Mona Al-Wari & Loredana Neruda won 1st place, followed by the Team of Fatima Al-Marri, Shamma Al-Muhairi & Afra Hareb in the 2nd place, while Dubai Electricity & Water Authority’s Team, composed of Noura Al-Serah, Maitha Al-Bastaki & Sarah Shahadi, got 3rd place. 

The cycling competition was arranged at Al-Fursan Park in Expo City Dubai. Sheikha Essa of Dubai Police won 1st place in locals’ category, followed by Aisha Folad from Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services in the 2nd place & Nadia Ali of RTA in the 3rd place.  In expatriates’ category, Olaha Shakel from Dubai Police secured 1st place, followed by the Lithuanian Akvil Gidrayte of Dubai Police in the 2nd place and the Kazakh Mukhabat Amutzanova from Dubai Police too in the 3rd place.

The bowling competition was concluded at Dubai International Bowling Center in Al-Mamzar. Zakiya Darweesh of Dubai Police won 1st place in locals’ category, while her colleague in Dubai Police Samantha Shamali secured 1st place in expatriates’ category.

The running competition took place at EXPO City Dubai. Hessa Al-Jasmi from The Emirates Fly won 1st place of the locals’ category, and Lisbeth Verheyden of Dubai Police gained the expatriates category’s title.

The padel competition was concluded at the Just Padel Club in Rashid Port. In this regard, Maryam Mubarak & Fatima Al-Suwiadi from Dubai Police won 1st place in beginners’ category, while Sofia Govorosa & Maya Alpha Bacanut of Dubai Police secured 1st place in intermediate category.

In badminton competition, held at Al-Nasr Sports Club, Ghadeer Ali won 1st place in locals’ category, and Giano Maya Paral from Dubai Duty Free came 1st in the expatriates’ category.

DSC will organize a prestigious awarding ceremony on Wednesday 6th Nov. 2024 to honor winners in the individual & team competitions of the 12th edition of the Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament, in the presence of all participating parties.

Rules applicable in local federations were implemented, in addition to articles which are newly introduced in the respective federations. Rules & regulations were stipulated in a way that copes with abilities of female associates of governmental, semi-governmental & private entities and in such way that does not contradict the rules applicable in each of the respective federations.
