Dubai: Despite being only the fifth installment of this upstart challenger to the hegemony of the world's premier fashion shows, the latest autumn/winter (AW) edition showcased world-class organisation, designers & production, as the venue at Dubai's Design District seamlessly sped through six days and two dozen carefully curated designers. Modelesque was privileged to gain VIP access to shoot the shows & share the spectacle with a growing global audience.

It was a challenge to keep pace with the classy carousel and even harder to pick favourites from such a smorgasbord of talent.  However, certain shows reached the next level of style & entertainment, including the bold & brash Viva Vox, the sublime Manel & the magical Zeena Zaki. A special commendation goes to the two-pronged spectacular Riva show of glowing golden autumnal hues as these international stars brought their very special collections to find favour from Dubai's fast-expanding fashion elite.

There was barely time to catch one's breath before realising that thousands of photos and dozens of videos awaited careful creativity to do justice to the efforts that went into their genesis. Hopefully, the DFW organisers will also hold some future shows at Dubai's iconic landmarks to sear these superlative shows into the collective consciousness. We can but wait with bated breath for the spring of September's showcase of summer styles...
