Dubai: Major General Abdulla Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC), presided over the first coordination meeting to discuss security preparations for the Dubai World Cup 2025. 

The prestigious horse racing event is set to take place on 5 April at Meydan Racecourse.

The meeting, held at The Meydan Hotel, was attended by Ali Abdulrahman Al Ali, Executive Director of Dubai Racing Club and Board Member, alongside several representatives from government and semi-government entities involved in securing the event.

Discussions focused on enhancing security measures and operational readiness for the globally renowned event. Major General Al Ghaithi emphasised the significance of the Dubai World Cup, which attracts millions of viewers worldwide and is extensively covered by international media. He stressed the importance of exceptional security efforts that reflect Dubai’s status as a leading destination for world-class horse racing and major international events.

During the session, Major General Al Ghaithi reviewed input and constructive suggestions to optimise security measures. He urged all stakeholders to intensify efforts, prioritise early preparedness, and enhance overall readiness to ensure the event's success.
