First Lieutenant Ali Tariq Alhasan, a police officer from the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Bahrain, expressed his pride in participating in the Police Innovation and Leadership Diploma (PIL), a specialised programme organised by Dubai Police in collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology. 

He described the diploma as a complete and enriching experience that enhanced both his professional expertise and personal development.

Lt. Alhasan explained that his decision to enrol in the programme was inspired by the positive feedback of colleagues who had attended the first edition. They spoke of a unique initiative that went beyond academic and professional development, creating a powerful sense of unity, harmony, and collaboration among officers worldwide. Participants shared valuable insights and experiences during highly engaging and interactive sessions.
Lt. Alhasan began by expressing his deep appreciation to His Excellency Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain, for granting him the honour of joining this distinguished programme.

“I spent nearly four months with over 50 officers from various countries, and I can confidently say that I became part of a global system that strengthens international police cooperation. The diploma was not just an educational journey; it was a fully integrated experience that had a lasting impact on me professionally and personally.”

One of the most memorable moments for Lt. Al Hassan was attending the UAE SWAT Challenge as an observer. “It was incredibly inspiring to watch elite tactical teams compete at the highest levels of professionalism and discipline. The organisation of the event was flawless and reflected Dubai Police’s capacity to promote international collaboration and align security efforts through a platform that truly exceeds expectations.”

He also highlighted the exceptional planning and execution of the programme. “There was a perfect balance between classroom lectures, field visits, and practical exercises. What stood out even more was the personal attention given to participants. Celebrating officers’ milestones, such as promotions, created a sense of belonging and made us feel like one family. I sincerely thank Dubai Police and His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, for his continuous support of this diploma. My gratitude also goes to all the teams who worked tirelessly to provide an inclusive academic environment that encouraged learning and excellence.”

Lt. Alhasan stated that the programme opened new horizons and inspired him to bring several best practices back to Bahrain. He expressed particular interest in the Smart Police Stations (SPS), which deliver comprehensive services around the clock, and the Drone Box system, which represents a breakthrough in rapid response and public safety.
“The advanced technologies introduced by Dubai Police and their innovative digital strategies offer an exceptional model that could significantly improve the quality and efficiency of police services in Bahrain. These are practical ideas that I am eager to explore further.”On a personal level, he shared his passion for horse riding, which he said has helped him internalise values such as patience, discipline, and effective communication. He noted that these values are essential in leadership, teamwork, and building trust with the public.

He said, “The diploma was not just a training course. It was a journey rich with experiences, knowledge, and human connection. I leave with inspiration, pride, and readiness to apply what I have learned to contribute to advancing policing in my country.”
