Sharjah: Sharjah authorities have announced that motorists can receive a 35% discount on traffic fines if the payment is made within 60 days of the violation.

For those who pay their fines after 60 days but within one year, a 25% discount will be applied. However, this discount does not apply to certain serious traffic violations.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council, chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.

During the same meeting, the Council also approved a 50% reduction in government fees for entrepreneurs. This initiative will support 88 projects across various economic sectors.

It’s worth noting that the 35% traffic fine discount scheme was first introduced in 2023 in Sharjah. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi continues to offer motorists year-round reductions on traffic fines through its own programme.
