Sharjah: Air Arabia reported a net profit of AED 278 million for the first quarter ending March 31, 2026, with revenues of AED 1.8 billion and 4.7 million passengers carried. The airline said results were achieved despite operational challenges linked to regional disruptions, while maintaining stable performance supported by strong demand and efficient capacity management.

Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest low-cost carrier, announced its financial and operational results for the first quarter ending March 31, 2026, on Thursday.

Financial and operational performance

Air Arabia reported a net profit of AED 278 million for the first quarter ending March 31, 2026, representing a 22% decrease compared to AED 355 million in the same period last year, attributed to regional conflict and reduced operational capacity due to airspace closures and restrictions.

The airline recorded revenues of AED 1.8 billion, a 1% increase year-on-year, while carrying 4.7 million passengers, a 5% decline compared to the same period in 2025. The seat load factor reached 86%, up 2 percentage points, reflecting continued strong demand despite operational constraints.

Q1 2026 results

Chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani said the quarter was marked by significant challenges, including airspace restrictions and operational disruptions, but noted the airline’s resilience in maintaining business continuity and managing capacity efficiently.

He added that strong demand across markets, supported by a multi-hub model and cost discipline, helped sustain performance. The airline operated a fleet of 90 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft across hubs in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt, and Pakistan, with additional aircraft scheduled for delivery.

Air Arabia was also ranked among Forbes’ “Top 100 Most Powerful Public Companies in the Middle East 2026” and received Limited Assurance on its 2025 Sustainability Report, reflecting its commitment to ESG standards and transparency.
