Al Marri Meets Commander of the National Guard

Dubai: His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander‑in‑Chief of Dubai Police, met with His Excellency Major General Saleh Mohammed bin Megren Al Ameri, Commander of the National Guard, to strengthen joint cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Major General Dr. Ahmed Zaal bin Kerishan Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander‑in‑Chief for Financial and Administrative Affairs; His Excellency Major General Hareb Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander‑in‑Chief for Criminal Affairs; and a number of senior officers from both sides.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation and exchange expertise and knowledge, contributing to national efforts aimed at reinforcing security and stability while raising levels of readiness and efficiency across various vital sectors – in line with the aspirations of the UAE's wise leadership to cement the country's position as a global model in security and institutional excellence.
H.E. Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri expressed his thanks and appreciation to the National Guard for its national efforts and vital role in supporting security and stability. He affirmed that the work system in the UAE, and in Dubai in particular, is built on solid foundations of partnership and integration between government entities and the private sector – enhancing efficiency, readiness, and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
Al Marri noted that Dubai Police places enhancing its operational and institutional readiness among its strategic priorities. “This is achieved through investment in modern technologies, innovation, and qualified human resources – ensuring the delivery of the highest quality security and police services in line with global standards,” he added.
Meanwhile, H.E. Major General Saleh Mohammed bin Megren Al Ameri emphasised the importance of the strategic partnership and ongoing cooperation with Dubai Police, noting that both sides work as one team to serve the nation and the community, reinforcing the security and safety system in the country.
Al Ameri praised the qualitative achievements of Dubai Police, affirming that it has become a global model in institutional excellence, innovation, and future foresight. He commended the level of cooperation and coordination across various sectors, as well as the role Dubai Police plays in supporting local civil authorities and enhancing the integrated government work system.
Command & Control Centre
Lieutenant General Al Marri accompanied Major General Al Ameri to the Command and Control Centre of the General Department of Operations, where he received a briefing on the centre's operations, latest services, and initiatives that enhance the speed of emergency response and reinforce security and safety in the emirate.
He was also introduced to the key smart technologies and systems used at the centre, including the 3D map, the patrol management and monitoring system, and field deployment according to best global practices – supporting Dubai Police's targets for rapid response to reports and distress calls. Al Ameri also watched a documentary film showcasing Dubai Police's swift response to an emergency call, including the integrated procedures carried out within a record time that reflects the level of readiness and operational efficiency.
Innovation Lab
The Commander of the National Guard also toured Dubai Police's Security Innovation Laboratory and reviewed modern technology's contents and the latest smart services and AI-based security innovations. In addition to the latest police patrols equipped with various security and surveillance technologies directly related to the command and control centre.
He listened to an explanation of current and future projects being implemented by Dubai Police in the fields of innovation and digital transformation, as well as efforts to enhance sustainable development and anticipate future security solutions.
Explosives Security Readiness
The visit also included a tour of the Explosives Security Department, where Maj. Gen. Al Ameri was briefed on the advanced systems and programmes used to monitor and detect explosive materials. He learned about mechanisms for handling reports and emergency incidents, and the readiness level of specialised work teams and their technical and technological capabilities to face various security challenges.
Resilience Department
The Commander of the National Guard was also briefed on the key achievements of the Dubai Police Resilience Department, which culminated in receiving the classification of the world's first resilience centre. This contributed to Dubai winning the Model City Award for Intelligence, Sustainability, and Resilience from the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.
He was also informed of the centre's achievements, including Dubai receiving the certification as the world's best model resilient city, launching the first specialised diploma in resilience in the Middle East, and organising the first Global Resilience Forum – reflecting Dubai's leadership in building sustainable systems capable of facing future challenges.
Unmanned Aerial Systems Centre
In addition, Al Ameri toured the operations room at the Unmanned Aerial Systems Centre, where he was briefed on the latest smart solutions used to support police operations. He learned about the centre's readiness to handle various reports and incidents, and its role in enhancing the efficiency of security work across general departments and police stations.
He was also introduced to the coordination mechanisms with strategic partners, and was briefed on the "Drone Box" system, as well as its role in rapidly reaching incident sites and providing the Command and Control Centre with data and information to support decision‑making and reduce response time.
At the end of the visit, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri and His Excellency Major General Saleh Mohammed bin Megren Al Ameri exchanged commemorative shields, affirming the depth of institutional relations and strategic partnership between the two sides, and their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in the service of national interests and the security and stability of the community.
