Dubai: Dubai Police has approved the 2040 future foresight vision for the General Department of Administrative Affairs, introducing a series of future focused projects and initiatives designed to support the organisation’s strategic objectives, including enhancing safety and security, fostering community happiness, and advancing innovation in human capabilities in line with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.

The vision was formally signed by Brigadier Mansour Al Qarqawi, Director of the General Department of Administrative Affairs, and Expert Brigadier Dr Hamdan Ahmad Hamdan Al Ghassiya, Director of the Future Foresight Centre, in the presence of Brigadier Dr Mohammad Hassan Al Janahi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Administrative Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel Omar Balabida, Deputy Director of the Future Foresight Centre, along with a number of department directors and section heads.

Brigadier Al Qarqawi said that the future foresight vision serves as a strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening Dubai Police’s readiness to address future challenges through the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies and advanced digital solutions. He explained that the vision will enhance organisational preparedness, support the continuation of Dubai Police’s proactive approach to achieving the highest levels of protection, and help identify future priorities, trends, and strategic projects.

For his part, Brigadier Al Ghassiya stressed that the Future Foresight Centre is a strategic partner in shaping the future of policing and reinforcing leadership in community policing. He noted that the vision is aligned with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 and reflects Dubai Police’s commitment to innovation as a driver of sustainable development. He added that the Centre continues to organise workshops and foresight retreats with various general departments and police stations to generate innovative ideas that support the ongoing development of policing systems in line with government priorities.

Brigadier Al Ghassiya further explained that the vision embodies the principles of future foresight in the security and policing sectors by supporting future planning and the implementation of forward looking projects aligned with Dubai Police’s strategic plan. This includes analysing the current landscape, monitoring and assessing emerging trends, challenges and risks, identifying future pathways, and empowering young people to play an active role in the development of policing and security services.
