Al Marri visits Dubai Police Platform at the Dubai Mall

Dubai: His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, visited today, Tuesday, the interactive platform of the Dubai Police General Command at the Dubai Mall, which celebrates the International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking in several activities under the slogan "Drugs… A Painful Ending".

H.E Lt. Gen. Al Marri toured the interactive platform, accompanied by Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs; Major General Ali Al Shamali, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, Major General Saeed Hamad Bin Sulaiman Al Malik, Director of Al Rashidiya Police Station; Brigadier Eid Muhammad Hareb, Director of the General Department for Anti-narcotics, and many senior officers and officials.

At the interactive platform, H.E Lt. Gen. Al Marri and the accompanying senior officers were briefed on the awareness-raising programs offered to visitors in collaboration with the Community Development Authority (CDA), Emirates Health Services, Erada Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation, Al Ameen Service, Dubai Police Anti-Cybercrime Department, and the Hemaya International Centre.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police emphasized the importance of this day to reassert the seriousness and the danger of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and highlight the necessity of joint global efforts to combat the dangerous scourge and protect societies against its destructive effects. He also reaffirmed the Dubai Police's determination and keenness to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international community free of drug abuse.

H.E Lt. Gen. Al Marri Al Marri praised the world's anti-narcotics agents at the international levels for their tireless efforts to tackle transnational drug syndicates and bring them to justice, urging parents to raise their children's awareness of the dangers of drugs and protect them against their peers' negative influence and cybercriminals who exploit the social media platforms to promote drugs.

Colonel Abdullah Al-Khayyat, director of the International Hemaya Center at the General Department of Narcotics Control in Dubai Police, said that the Dubai Police platform provides the Dubai Mall visitors with several awareness activities about the danger of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in addition to competitions and raffles, a display of luxury cars and performances by the Dubai Police musical band.

At the end of the visit, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police honoured the strategic partners for their valuable efforts and participation in spreading awareness about the danger of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances among the members of the society.
