Dubai: The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) has taken part in a two-day workshop focusing on the governance of combating human trafficking. Titled 'Understanding the Governance of Combating Human Trafficking and Exploring the Potential for Collaboration to Change Narratives', the workshop was organized by the Middle East Centre for Training and Development on August 23 and 24.

Representing DFWAC, Amna Al Mutawa, Psychological Services Manager at DFWAC, presented a comprehensive paper, outlining the foundation's objectives, it’s collaborative efforts, and initiatives designed to support women and children who have fallen victim to human trafficking. The paper particularly emphasized DFWAC's commitment to offering shelter, psychological support, education, awareness, vocational training, and rehabilitation to affected individuals, ensuring they lead safe and dignified lives.

HE Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director General of DFWAC, underlined the foundation's unwavering commitment to combating human trafficking. Aligning with the nation's vision, she expressed pride in DFWAC's consistent strides in this crucial domain. "Our participation in this workshop underscores our aim to drive change, enhance governance, and elevate community awareness on the issue," she remarked.

The workshop included a series of dialogues and lectures delving into various facets of human trafficking, spanning its legal, social, and humanitarian dimensions. Attendees also engaged in discussions geared towards analyzing and refining current policies to counteract human trafficking more effectively.
