Dubai Police organises \'Emirati Women in the Year of Sustainability 2023\' Forum

Dubai: The Dubai Police Women's Council organized the 'Emirati Women in the Year of Sustainability 2023' forum under the theme 'We Collaborate in Mapping Sustainability for Tomorrow'.

This event coincided with Emirati Women's Day, celebrated annually on the 28th of August.

On a celebratory statement, Major Anoud Al Saadi, Chairperson of Dubai Police Women Council, extended her congratulations and sincere gratitude to the wise leadership and Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) ‘Mother of the Nation,’ on the occasion.

She also congratulated all women on this special day, highlighting that this year's theme corresponds to the declaration of 2023 as the Year of Sustainability by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates.

She stated, "Today, we celebrate Emirati Women's Day as we join hands in shaping a brighter future together. The exceptional efforts of ‘Mother of the Nation’ have granted Emirati women immense support, enabling them to become fundamental partners alongside their male counterparts in various fields.”

During the Emirati Women's Forum, held under the patronage of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major Al Saadi underscored the remarkable efforts of Dubai Police in supporting women and fostering an exceptional environment for them. "These endeavors empower women to undertake diverse responsibilities and tasks, reflecting being the first military institution to achieve gender balance certification and win the European Quality Management Challenge Award for 'Diversity, Integration, and Gender Equality.' Furthermore, we have made notable strides in the realm of sustainability and accomplished significant milestones across various fields of expertise," she further emphasized.

The forum recognized exceptional female members who have made remarkable and tangible contributions within Dubai Police. Among them were Mona Al Ameri, Director of the Esaad Card Centre; Fatima Buhajeer, Head of the Community Initiatives Section and General Coordinator of the Positive Spirit Initiative; Suad Al Naemi from the Command and Control Center, and other notable contributors.

The forum consisted of two discussion panels, where the first panel delved into "Dubai Police's Sustainable Development Roadmap for 2023," while the second panel highlighted Dubai Police's endeavors in promoting sustainability in the sports field.

The forum also highlighted the diverse areas in which Dubai Police empowers women, showcasing a study conducted by First Lieutenant Engineer Al Reem Abdul Rahman Abdullah Ali from Dubai Police's Explosives Security Department. The study carried out at Cranfield University in the UK focused on mitigating environmental pollution stemming from explosives and hazardous waste, including the production of military arms and ammunition and military field activities.

At the end of the event, Maj. Al Saadi expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the sponsors and contributors who played a vital role in its success. She specifically thanked the strategic sponsor, Al-Futtaim Group, and the bronze sponsor, Prime Healthcare Group. Additionally, she acknowledged the significant contribution and collaboration of InterContinental Dubai Festival City in ensuring the event's resounding success.
