Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has launched the ‘Erth Dubai’ initiative, aimed at documenting the emirate's history and heritage by collecting stories and life experiences from its residents.The initiative seeks to capture Dubai’s transformation over the years and the lives of its people across generations.

Preserving Dubai's cultural legacy
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that ‘Erth Dubai’ will preserve the cultural legacy of Dubai, ensuring it continues to inspire future generations. He highlighted the importance of collaboration among various sectors of society, urging everyone from students to government employees to participate in sharing their personal stories.

A collaborative effort to document Dubai’s history
The initiative invites members of the community to share their experiences, ensuring the rich heritage of Dubai is passed down to future generations. It will gather historical accounts from individuals and families through an interactive platform, with a specialized jury later evaluating the submissions.

Educational and community engagement
‘Erth Dubai’ will also involve students in a campaign to document the stories of their parents and grandparents, helping young people connect with their roots. This initiative, alongside the Dubai National Archives Project, highlights Sheikh Hamdan’s ongoing efforts to preserve and share Dubai’s inspiring journey for future generations.
