Dubai: Dubai Police marked International Workers’ Day, observed annually on the first of May, with a series of initiatives recognising the essential role of labourers and support staff in building and sustaining the city’s development.

The General Department of Human Resources hosted a special event under the ongoing initiative “You Are Our Support”, now in its third year. The ceremony honoured support staff and workers across Dubai Police, in the presence of Brigadier Dr. Jasim Mohammed Abdullah, Director of the Administrative Affairs Department, along with several officers, employees, and workers.

Brigadier Dr. Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the invaluable role that workers play in supporting daily operations, maintaining services, and enhancing the institutional work environment.

Hatta Police Station Tribute
Simultaneously, Hatta Police Station joined the celebration. Brigadier Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of Hatta Police Station, congratulated workers and underscored their contribution as the foundation of national progress. He reaffirmed Dubai Police’s commitment to supporting workers’ rights and fostering a positive work environment that boosts productivity and wellbeing. He also honoured construction workers employed at a site in the Hatta region, accompanied by fellow officers.

Traffic Department Activities for 250 Workers
The General Department of Traffic also organised awareness and entertainment activities across several labour accommodations in cooperation with strategic partners. The outreach reached over 250 workers of various nationalities and focused on raising road safety awareness among this vital demographic.

First Lieutenant Salma Mohammed Al Marri, Head of the Traffic Awareness Section, noted that the initiative reflects Dubai Police’s strategy to strengthen community relations and promote a culture of gratitude and respect for workers. The programme included traffic safety workshops, educational games, entertainment shows, and the distribution of gifts and prizes.
