Dubai: The Dubai Police, represented by the “Your Commitment is Happiness” initiative team and in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, organised an awareness lecture for students of The Elite English School. 

The session focused on raising awareness about the responsibilities of sports spectators in stadiums, as outlined in Federal Law No. 8 of 2014 concerning the security of sports facilities and events.
First Lieutenant Nabet Sultan Al Ketbi stressed that the “Your Commitment is Happiness” initiative aims to strengthen communication with sports fans and unify efforts to enhance their experience by promoting a culture of positive support. He explained that the initiative also encourages the effective use of social media to spread positive messages and constructive criticism among all parties involved in sports, thereby reflecting the nation’s civilised image in sporting arenas.

He added that the initiative seeks to raise awareness among spectators about the boundaries of cheering and the risks of expressing negative emotions towards others, reminding the public of their legal obligations under the Federal Law on the Security of Sports Facilities and Events.

Lieutenant Al Ketbi also highlighted that the provisions of the law ensure the highest standards of safety for athletes and facilities across the UAE. These measures are aligned with advanced security protocols and international standards for managing security at sporting festivals and events.
