Dubai Police Renew Commitment to the UAE Leadership on Union Pledge Day

Dubai: Dubai Police have reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the achievements of the United Arab Emirates and advancing its development journey as the nation marks Union Pledge Day, a national occasion commemorating the historic meeting of 18 July 1971 that laid the foundations for the establishment of the UAE.
On the occasion, Dubai Police extended their congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, and all citizens and residents across the UAE.
Union Pledge Day was designated by the President of the UAE to commemorate the historic gathering held on 18 July 1971, during which the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, together with the Rulers of the Emirates, signed the Union Document and the UAE Constitution and announced the establishment and official name of the United Arab Emirates.
Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, described Union Pledge Day as a deeply rooted national occasion that honours the wisdom and foresight of the Founding Fathers, whose unity, determination and vision laid the foundations of a nation that has become a global model for security, stability, sustainable development and leadership.
He said the occasion serves not only as a reminder of a defining chapter in the UAE’s history, but also as an opportunity to renew loyalty to the nation’s leadership, reaffirm commitment to protecting national achievements, strengthen the values of unity, belonging and loyalty, and continue working with dedication and responsibility to reinforce the country’s regional and international standing.
Al Marri added that “the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the Founding Fathers demonstrated exceptional vision and unwavering determination in building a strong federal nation founded on unity, solidarity, justice and the rule of law.” He noted that these enduring values continue to guide the country’s leadership, enabling the UAE to become one of the world’s safest and most prosperous nations.
Concluding his remarks, Al Marri said Union Pledge Day is an opportunity to renew Dubai Police’s pledge of loyalty to the nation and its leadership, continue protecting the security of society, preserve the country’s achievements, work in the spirit of one team to enhance quality of life and sustainable development, and ensure that the legacy of the Founding Fathers continues to inspire future generations.
