Dubai: His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, honoured the "Thank You for Your Giving" Volunteer Team and the volunteers of “Policeman in Your Neighbourhood” initiative, in recognition of their outstanding efforts and active contributions to enhancing community security and reinforcing the values of volunteerism and community responsibility.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Major General Dr. Ahmed Zaal bin Krishan Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Financial and Administrative Affairs; His Excellency Major General Dr. Tariq Tahlak, Assistant Commandant for Community Happiness and Logistical Support Affairs; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness; his deputy, Colonel Prof. Saud Al Rumaithi; and a number of senior officers.

The honour acknowledges the distinguished role played by the honourees in security and community efforts, assisting residents in residential neighbourhoods, and their active participation in community initiatives, as well as embedding a culture of cooperation between the public and security entities.

Lt. Gen. Al Marri affirmed that Dubai Police firmly believes that community partnership and volunteer work form a fundamental pillar in achieving sustainable development and promoting quality of life. He noted that honouring initiative leaders and supporting entities comes in appreciation of their giving and tangible contributions to serving the community, and as encouragement for them to continue their journey of generosity and dedication.

Al Marri praised the significant efforts made by the "Thank You for Your Giving" Volunteer Team since the beginning of its cooperation with the Positive Spirit Council, commending the team's meaningful support and humanitarian initiatives that have contributed to the success of numerous community programmes and presented an honourable national model of volunteer work founded on a spirit of responsibility and solidarity in serving the community.

Al Marri also valued the role played by the volunteers of "Policeman in Your Neighbourhood" initiative, who represent an honourable model of community partnership and embody the spirit of belonging and national responsibility through their active contribution to supporting community initiatives and events, thereby enhancing quality of life and fostering a sense of safety and security among community members.

Strengthening the Relationship
Meanwhile, Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri stated that Dubai Police places great importance on volunteer work as a fundamental pillar for strengthening the relationship with the community. He commended the time, effort, and dedication offered by volunteers, which has contributed to achieving numerous community successes and promoting the concept that "security is a shared responsibility that requires the combined efforts of all."

He added: "Investing in volunteers and empowering them to participate actively in community initiatives strengthens the culture of shared responsibility, reinforce the values of giving and belonging, and affirms that volunteer work is a fundamental pillar in achieving sustainable community security and bringing happiness to community members."

During the event, the volunteers expressed their pride and honour in receiving this recognition from the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, affirming that volunteering has given them a genuine opportunity to contribute to serving the community and promoting the values of cooperation, solidarity, and community responsibility, reflecting Dubai Police's vision of building a safer and more cohesive society.
