UAE Registers Sell Force International as First Indian Family-Owned Company in Unified Family Business Registry
- July 28, 2026
Dubai: The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism has registered Sell Force International, a subsidiary of the Dubai-based Raj Group, as the first Indian family-owned company to join the country's Unified Family Business Registry, marking another milestone in the UAE's efforts to strengthen its position as a global hub for family enterprises.
The company completed its registration under Federal Decree-Law No. 37 of 2022 on Family Businesses. The registration certificate was presented by UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri to Dr Mustafa Saasa, Chairman and Managing Director of the Raj Group of Companies.
Speaking on the occasion, Bin Touq said the registration reflects the success of the UAE's legislative and economic policies in attracting family-owned businesses through a comprehensive legal and institutional framework that promotes long-term sustainability, strong corporate governance, and smooth succession planning across generations.
He added that the inclusion of the first Indian family-owned company in the registry highlights the growing confidence of international family businesses in the UAE's investment climate and the flexibility of its legal framework.
The minister also noted the significant role family businesses play in the UAE's economy, contributing around 60 per cent of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employing nearly 80 per cent of the workforce, and accounting for approximately 90 per cent of private-sector companies.
Dr Mustafa Saasa described the registration as a landmark achievement for the Raj Group, stating that it reflects the UAE's strong commitment to supporting the growth, continuity, and long-term success of family-owned enterprises.
Established on the legacy of Sassa Trading, founded in Dubai in 1958, Sell Force International has evolved into a diversified business with operations spanning construction materials, sustainability solutions, real estate, human capital, industrial products, cosmetics, and business services. The company currently operates across the Middle East, Africa, and India.
The latest registration comes as the UAE continues to reinforce its status as a leading regional destination for family businesses. According to Forbes Middle East's 2026 ranking of the Arab World's 100 Most Powerful Family Businesses, the UAE is home to 31 companies on the prestigious list, including four among the top ten, further highlighting the country's leadership in the family business sector.
