Dubai Police and Dubai Sports Council inspect stadium readiness for new sports season

Dubai: Teams from the Dubai Police General Command and the Dubai Sports Council conducted security inspection tours around the emirate to ensure the readiness of facilities at Dubai clubs to host competitions for the 2026-2027 season across all sports.
These annual tours are aimed at guaranteeing the safety and well-being of athletes and spectators, and to facilitate smooth access to and from all sports facilities in Dubai clubs.
The visits included inspections of sports facilities at Al Nasr, Al Wasl, Shabab Al Ahli and Hatta Club, as well as the Dubai Club for People of Determination, Dubai International Marine Club, the Dubai Chess and Culture Club and Hamdan Sports Complex.
The Dubai Police team was headed by Brigadier Hisham Nasser Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Emergency Affairs and accompanied by Colonel Mohammed Ali Ahli, Acting Director of the Emergency Department.
The Dubai Sports Council teams were headed by Ali Omar Al Baloushi, Director of the Sports Development Department, and others on the tour included Dr. Hamad Al Falasi, Executive Director of Al Nasr Club, Abdul Nasser Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Al Wasl Club, and representatives from Shabab Al Ahli, Hatta and United clubs.
The inspection tour included meetings with Dubai Police liaison officers, club facility security officers, logistics support teams, representatives from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) and stadium and hall managers at the clubs.
The tour also included a field assessment of football stadiums and sports halls to ensure the readiness of control rooms, stands, public entrances, emergency exits, evacuation areas and entrances designated for people with disabilities, while ensuring compliance with all security and safety requirements, in accordance with the provisions of Federal Law No. (8) of 2014 concerning the security of sports facilities and events, its executive regulations issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (31) of 2015, and the regulations laid down by the UAE Pro League.
Brigadier Al Suwaidi praised the fruitful cooperation between the General Department of Security of Entities, Facilities and Emergencies, sports clubs, and strategic partners, expressing his aspirations for an exceptional sports season that reflects the civilized image of the UAE, witnesses high-level sportsmanship free from any negative phenomena, and provides fans with enjoyable match-day experiences.
Ali Omar Al Baloushi, Director of Sports Development at the Dubai Sports Council, commended the clubs’ efforts and their commitment in implementing the highest standards of organisational quality and safety. He said: “We appreciate the efforts of Dubai Police in general, and the General Department of Security of Entities, Facilities and Emergencies in particular. We also commend the professional work undertaken by Dubai clubs to develop their facilities and modernise their security and operational systems to meet our shared aspirations. Our goal is to provide a safe and attractive sporting environment befitting Dubai’s global standing, ensuring an exceptional experience for both the public and athletes. This will enhance our ongoing readiness to successfully and distinctively host and organise major local and international sporting events.”
These tours are part of the continuous efforts of Dubai Police and the Dubai Sports Council to ensure the complete readiness of sports facilities, provide security and safety for the sporting community, and maintain the civilised appearance that distinguishes the emirate’s stadiums. These efforts coincide with the organisation of numerous workshops and specialised forums on stadium security to solidify the concepts of community partnership and promote the principles of sportsmanship, in line with the prestigious global standing of the UAE.
