Dubai Police Highlights Flexible Payment Options to Prevent Traffic Fine Accumulation
- August 11, 2026
Dubai: Dubai Police has stepped up efforts to help motorists manage traffic fines responsibly and make greater use of digital road safety services, highlighting flexible payment options and the risks associated with allowing fines to accumulate.
As part of their awareness efforts, the General Department of Traffic organised an awareness workshop for more than 70 employees of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, combining practical guidance on traffic fines with smart services, road safety and responsible mobility.
Avoiding the Accumulation of Traffic Fines
Brigadier Issam Ibrahim Al Awar, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said the workshops form part of Dubai Police’s ongoing efforts to strengthen traffic awareness across different segments of society.
He explained that educating the public about smart services, traffic procedures and regulations can simplify the customer journey while encouraging greater compliance with traffic laws, reducing violations and ultimately improving road safety.
A central focus of the workshop was the importance of dealing with traffic fines responsibly rather than allowing them to accumulate, which can result in increased financial obligations and legal procedures.
Participants were introduced to Dubai Police’s smart payment channels and available fine instalment options, providing greater flexibility in managing financial obligations while making digital services easier to access.
Traffic Services Available Around the Clock
Colonel Talal Abdullah Al Mansouri, Director of the Traffic Education Department at the General Department of Traffic, delivered the workshop and highlighted common unsafe road behaviours and their impact on public safety.
He also explained the different smart channels available for paying traffic fines, including the Dubai Police smart app, website, self-service kiosks and Smart Police Stations (SPS), providing customers with secure access to services around the clock.
Safer Cycling and E Scooter Use
The workshop also addressed the use of bicycles and e scooters, with participants receiving guidance on traffic rules, designated routes and the importance of complying with safety requirements and wearing appropriate protective equipment.
The guidance aimed to protect riders while enhancing the safety of all road users.
Traffic Safety at Your Fingertips
Participants were also introduced to Dubai Police’s traffic safety platform (Aman Roads), an integrated digital platform offering regularly updated road safety content.
The platform provides traffic advice and guidance, awareness campaigns and initiatives, helping community members expand their road safety knowledge and learn about practices that can contribute to preventing crashes and improving safety on Dubai’s roads.
Engaging the Community
The workshop generated strong engagement, with participants raising a range of questions about traffic fines, smart services and how to benefit from the Traffic Safety Platform.
The discussions reflected participants’ interest in strengthening their understanding of traffic safety and adopting best practices that contribute to sustainable road safety.
