Dubai: Police tactical teams from around the world can now register for the UAE SWAT Challenge 2027, as Dubai prepares to host the eighth edition of one of the world’s largest international competitions dedicated to specialised tactical teams.

The challenge will take place from 23 to 27 January 2027 at Training City in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai, bringing together special police units, rapid intervention teams and tactical teams from different countries to test their skills, readiness and teamwork.

The Organising Committee has encouraged teams planning to compete to register early, giving them more time to prepare and reach the level of readiness required for the competition.

Five Days of Tactical Competition

Across five challenges, competing teams will be required to demonstrate their tactical, physical and technical capabilities as they collect points each day.

Every performance contributes towards the overall standings, with the team achieving the highest cumulative score ultimately winning the challenge.

Beyond competition, the event provides an international platform where tactical teams can exchange expertise, compare capabilities and learn about the latest global practices in rapid intervention operations.

A Guinness World Record Setting Competition

The UAE SWAT Challenge has grown into one of the world’s largest competitions dedicated to specialised tactical police teams.

Its international reach earned the event a place in Guinness World Records during both its sixth and seventh editions, recognising the largest number of countries participating in a SWAT team competition.

The achievement reflects the challenge’s growing international participation and its position as a meeting point for tactical police teams from around the world.

Testing Readiness Against the Best

While teams compete for points and the overall title, the challenge is also designed to provide a practical opportunity to measure operational efficiency and readiness against demanding scenarios.

It enables participating teams to exchange experiences and learn about current international practices in the work of rapid intervention units, while testing the tactical, physical and technical abilities required to respond to different challenges.

Open to Spectators
The UAE SWAT Challenge is also open to members of the public, allowing spectators to attend the competitions and support teams as they take on the five challenges.
