BCCI Approves Key Decisions at 95th Annual General Meeting

Mumbai: The 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was held on September 18, 2026, at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, with the General Body taking several key decisions concerning the IPL, administration, officials and player development.

The General Body elected and inducted two representatives into the IPL Governing Council — Arun Singh Dhumal and M. Khairul Jamal Majumdar.

The AGM also adopted the BCCI’s audited statement of accounts for the 2025-26 financial year and approved the annual budget for 2026-27. Auditors for the 2026-27 financial year were also appointed.

Grand celebrations planned for IPL 20th edition

The General Body unanimously decided to celebrate the 20th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2027 on a grand scale.

The BCCI has also initiated preparations for its centenary celebrations in 2028. The centenary programme will begin in December 2027 and continue throughout 2028, marking 100 years of the Board’s contribution to Indian cricket.

Enhanced payments for umpires and referees

Another major decision was the unanimous approval of an enhanced payment structure for umpires and match referees, along with the reclassification of their grades.

The General Body also constituted a new Internal Committee under the BCCI’s Prevention of Sexual Harassment Policy.

The BCCI Age Verification Policy was updated and formally adopted during the meeting.

Support for differently-abled cricketers

The AGM also discussed with the State Cricket Associations measures to support differently-abled cricketers. The discussions focused on providing appropriate facilities and resources to promote their development, participation and progress in cricket.

The decisions taken at the 95th AGM are aimed at strengthening the BCCI’s administrative framework while supporting the continued development of cricket and its stakeholders across India.
