Dubai: Dubai Police, through its ‘Your Commitment is Happiness’ initiative, organised an awareness event for students at Jumeirah English Speaking School Arabian Ranches (JESS) to promote responsible fan behaviour and raise awareness of the rules governing attendance at sporting events.

The event introduced students to the responsibilities of sports fans in stadiums under Federal Law No. 8 of 2014 concerning the Security of Sports Facilities and Events.

Building a Positive Fan Culture

Lieutenant Nabet Sultan Al Ketbi, the initiative’s coordinator, said ‘Your Commitment is Happiness’ seeks to strengthen communication with sports fans, with a particular focus on school students.

He explained that engaging young people helps establish a culture of positive support and encourages responsible behaviour that reflects the UAE’s values and positive image at sporting venues.
“The initiative raises awareness of the responsibilities of sports fans as stipulated under federal legislation concerning the security of sports facilities and events,” Lieutenant Al Ketbi said.

Keeping Fans, Athletes and Venues Safe

Lieutenant Al Ketbi explained that the federal legislation supports comprehensive safety measures for athletes and sports facilities across the UAE.

These measures are implemented through advanced security standards and regulations aligned with international practices for managing security at festivals and sporting events.

Through the initiative, Dubai Police continues to engage young people early, helping the next generation of sports fans understand that supporting their teams also means respecting the rules, protecting others and contributing to a safe and positive atmosphere at sporting events.
