13 October 2019, Abu Dhabi UAE: Yas Mega Mela, organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) in partnership with Miral, has announced celebrity chefs Sandeep Sreedharan and Sanjay Thakur will join the line-up of celebrity chefs and Bollywood singers at the largest Indian lifestyle and culture festival in the UAE, which will run from 31st October until 2nd November at du Arena on Yas Island. 

Chef Sreedharan is one of the most sought-after chefs in Mumbai, renowned for the creation of a new genre of cuisine - modern coastal food - that has popularised western Indian coastal food. Chef Sanjay Thakur is a Guinness World record holder for creating and serving dinner to guests at the highest pop-up restaurant in the world, located at Everest Advanced High Camp. They will be sharing their culinary techniques with live cooking demonstrations and join legendary celebrity chef Vicky Ratnani at the Yas Mega Mela Chefs’ Kitchen. 

Meanwhile, Bollywood music sensations Kanika Kapoor will perform live on 31st October and Ankit Tiwari on 1st November. On Saturday, 2nd November, Fahmil Khan, the UAE-based engineer-turned-vocalist and guitarist, will play pop, Sufi, retro and contemporary Bollywood songs. Throughout the three-day festival there will be authentic ‘bhangra’ performances from Pure Bhangra - the most happening ‘bhangra’ crew in Dubai - plus international DJ Shadab playing Bollywood remixes on the decks. There will be a fireworks extravaganza each evening, set to be the biggest Abu Dhabi has seen, which will light up the Arabian night sky.
