Dubai: The Dubai Tourist Police have recently organised an event to mark World Tourism Day for tourists and residents visiting Dubai's best beachfront, La Mer.

 

Colonel Dr Mubarak Saeed Salem Bunawas Al Ketbi, Director of the Tourist Police Department at Dubai Police, said they joined the celebration with the aim of familiarising Dubai's tourists with the services provided by the Department. In addition to raising their awareness of local laws and regulations and offering them advice or help when needed. 

 

Col. Al Ketbi pointed out that this year's celebration is of great importance as it coincides with the upcoming inauguration of Expo 2020, where the emirate has been tirelessly working and preparing to welcome millions from all around the world over the period of six months. 

 

" Dubai Tourist Police are always ready to welcome the emirate's visitors and provide them with the necessary services." "We have opened different channels to facilitate communication from our end." "Now, tourists can easily and conveniently avail Dubai Police services via Dubai Police Smart App or visit nearest Smart Police Stations (SPS) located in 16 different areas across the emirate," Col. Al Ketbi added. 

 

Shows organised by Dubai Police Musical Band, K9 team, Mounted Police, Police Bike Patrol, and Luxury Police Patrols entrained the audience and introduced them to the smart policing services provided by the Force. They were also welcomed to take commemorative photos with the Dubai Police fleet of luxury police patrols. 

 

Moreover, Dubai Police volunteers offered tourists souvenirs and distributed cards with a QR code to a short video about Dubai and the Tourist Police services.

 

Toward the end of the event, Col. Al Ketbi praised the volunteers and participants for their contributions to making the celebration a success by spreading happiness among Dubai's visitors and thanked the La Mer management for their collaboration.
