Dubai: 40 prominent world champions & professional athletes in fitness field will participate in the 10th edition of Dubai International Fitness Championship, which will take place from 2nd to 4th Dec. 2022 at Coca Cola Arena with the support of Dubai Sports Council.

Participants were named after contesting the qualifiers competition, held in various countries of the world throughout three weeks. 20 males & 20 females of the best athletes of the game from all over the world have accordingly qualified and they will compete to win valuable prizes of Dhs 1.4 million. The Championship will be telecasted live on various sports channels & the official website of the Championship and on the Championship’s channel at the YouTube.  

Mr. Soud Saif Al-Shamsi, the Championship’s Manager, stated: “Participants in the current edition will contest tough competitions, since participation is limited to the strongest athletes in the world; top of whom are: Brent Vakawski, the Champion of Canada & Title’s Holder of Dubai Championship in 2019 / Lazar Dokic, Champion of Serbia & 2nd placed in the last edition of the Championship / Yona Fakawiski, Champion of Finland. The event will also be competed by prominent world female champions; among whom are: the French Champion Claudia Gelk / the British Champion Yoffe Burke / Jamie Smindez Champion of New Zealand & Title’s Holder of Dubai Championship in 2016”.

He added: “Dubai International Fitness Championship is one of the most eminent international sports events taking place in Dubai, based on the strength of the competition & the distinctive levels of participating athletes. The area of the competition ring has been reduced with increase in the level of the toughness of the competition in such way that copes with the status of the Championship, which has been converted from local competition into global challenge.  We organize this Championship to increase the numbers of those who exercise fitness sport in the State, because of great benefit of this sport to boost health & fitness of individuals in society / enhance Dubai’s name on the global map as an international destination, where top sports events in general and fitness championships in particular are organized”.    

Participants in the Championship will compete in eight tough competitions, among which are several trainings classified into more than one part. The first day’s competitions will take place from 06:00 to 09:00 am at outdoor area, to be named later. Three various exercises will be held on this day. On the 3rd & 4th Dec., participants will move to compete at the Coca Cola Arena Hall in the City Walk.

Dubai International Fitness Championship is the biggest of its kind, after the World Championship taking place in USA, in terms of the strength of competition, valuable financial prizes and huge numbers of followers. In this regard, it is to be mentioned that the numbers of views on the internet have exceeded one million. A documentary film on the Championship was prepared and telecasted by Netflix & Amazon in addition to Emirates Entertainment Network.
