Dubai Police Educates 79,000 Workers on Road Safety in 10 Months

Dubai: The Traffic Awareness Department of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police has reported a significant outreach, with 79,000 workers from various companies across Dubai benefiting from their educational lectures and awareness workshops since the beginning of this year.

Major General Saif Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, emphasised the importance of these lectures and workshops, which are part of the Dubai Police's unwavering commitment to enhancing road awareness and safety for all segments of society.

"Special attention has been given to educating workers on road safety, especially on safely crossing roads, to prevent pedestrian accidents and save lives," he said.

Colonel Abdurrahman Al Falasi, Director of the Traffic Awareness Department, highlighted that focusing on the worker demographic is crucial, as they often comprise pedestrians, bicycle, and scooter users. He stressed that continuous awareness efforts are pivotal in ensuring overall public safety, particularly in safe road-crossing and adherence to traffic signals and crossing points.

Lieutenant Salma Al Marri, Head of Traffic Awareness Section in the Traffic Awareness Department, added that specialised educators from the Traffic Awareness team delivered these workshops and lectures.

"Over ten months, they visited worker accommodations and companies in four areas: Al Quoz, Jebel Ali, Dubai Investment Park, and Al Muhaisnah," she said.

Al Marri noted that special educational material was designed to be simple and clear and was presented to the workers in their native language, ensuring maximum comprehension and impact.
