Dubai: Dubai Police invites the public to join a cherished Ramadan tradition on the 7th and 8th days of the holy month. Spectators can closely and safely gather in Al Khawaneej Park to witness the spectacular firing of the mobile iftar cannon.

Dubai Police iftar cannons have become a popular tradition since the early 1960s. Every day during the holy month of Ramadan, a single shot is fired at the time of iftar, and two shots are fired to mark the start of the holly month and the commencement of Eid.

This year, Dubai Police has stationed cannons across the emirates in eight locations, including Expo City Dubai, DAMAC Hills,  Union Properties ‘Uptown Mirdif’, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Real Estate Corporation (Wasl), JA Hatta Fort Hotel, Salt Camp- Kite Beach, and Marsa Boulevard Dubai, near to near Dubai Festival City Mall. 

Meanwhile, the Dubai Police has also dispatched mobile cannons to 17 areas across the emirate.
