Dubai: The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, will host a webinar under the title "Raising the Girl: From Protection to Empowerment" on March 10, 2025.
Timed to coincide with International Women’s Day and the holy month of Ramadan, the virtual forum aims to highlight the balance between safeguarding and empowering girls within the framework of family and societal values. 

Ramadan, a period of reflection and community dialogue, was chosen for the forum due to its strong educational and familial significance. The spiritual atmosphere of the month also provides an ideal setting for meaningful community dialogue on educational and social issues.

The forum will feature prominent speakers, including Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Mousa Al Balooshi, Advisor for Preaching and Guidance at the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, who will address the balance between protection and empowerment. 
His presentation will explore three key areas: psychological and physical protection, moral and spiritual upbringing, and social and economic empowerment.

Meanwhile, Dr. Maryam Al Jaidi, Case Manager at the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, will also contribute, focusing on strategies for raising girls from both psychological and social perspectives. Her discussion will cover topics such as psychological growth stages, emotional safety, resilience, the pressures of social media, and the vital connection between protection and empowerment.

Her Excellency Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director General of DFWAC, emphasised that the foundation is committed to promoting a culture of protection and empowerment, adding that raising girls in a balanced way ensures the development of independent personalities capable of facing life’s challenges.

“At the Foundation, we believe that protecting girls starts at home. Through this forum, we look forward to highlighting how a well-rounded upbringing helps shape confident, capable young women who can make a real impact in society. Our goal is for the panel discussions to go beyond simply informing, and instead spark deep conversations that truly empower girls in all areas of their lives” Al Mansouri said. 

The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children invites the public, educators, and community members to participate in this online discussion, which promises to offer valuable insights into the role of balanced education in empowering girls and strengthening their contribution to society.
