Dubai: Dubai Police issued a crucial warning regarding the dangers of transporting gas cylinders in private, unlicensed vehicles without proper signage. This reckless transportation poses significant risks to all road users.

Brigadier Jumaa Bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, confirmed the seizure of a minibus during a traffic patrol inspection campaign in the Al Quoz Industrial Area. He emphasized that the inspection revealed the minibus had been dangerously modified, with its seats removed to accommodate an excessive load of gas cylinders. “This posed a significant risk to drivers and road users, as a collision, leak, or unsafe storage could lead to devastating fires or explosions,” he stated.

Bin Suwaidan indicated that the vehicle was impounded, and the driver was referred to the competent authorities for legal action. He stressed that Dubai Police are committed to monitoring dangerous behaviours threatening road safety and community well-being. Furthermore, he noted intensifying surveillance on both internal and external roads and ongoing traffic campaigns aimed at apprehending violators.

Bin Suwaidan emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic laws and refraining from transporting hazardous materials. He warned that such actions are criminal offenses punishable by law and can result in severe disasters threatening lives and the community.

He also urged community members to partner with Dubai Police by reporting suspicious activities or reckless behaviour on the roads through the "We Are All Police" service at (901) or via the Dubai Police smart app. Bin Suwaidan highlighted that community awareness and proactive involvement are essential for improving security and traffic safety on the emirate's roads.
