Dubai: The Friends of the United Nations Federation (FUNF) has officially announced the appointment of a new Regional Ambassador for the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, and the wider Middle East. This move is part of the organization’s efforts to strengthen diplomatic engagement, humanitarian collaboration, and development initiatives across the region.

In addition to the regional appointment, deputies to the Regional Ambassador were also named, each holding the rank of Ambassador in their respective countries across the Asian continent. These deputies will serve as vital representatives, fostering dialogue, partnerships, and project implementation aligned with FUNF’s global mission.

The appointed ambassadors will cover diverse areas of work, including:

Humanitarian Aid & Relief – Coordinating crisis response, medical support, and aid distribution in conflict-affected and disaster-hit areas.

Sustainable Development – Promoting education, healthcare access, and environmentally responsible projects in alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Cultural & Diplomatic Exchange – Enhancing cooperation between governments, NGOs, and local communities to build stronger cross-border relationships.

Youth & Women Empowerment – Supporting initiatives that encourage leadership, entrepreneurship, and active civic participation.

The announcement included the official names and photographs of the ambassadors, showcasing a diverse group of professionals with extensive diplomatic, academic, and humanitarian experience. Their combined expertise is expected to reinforce the Federation’s presence in Asia and ensure closer collaboration with governments, international bodies, and civil society organizations.

The Friends of the United Nations Federation reaffirmed its commitment to advancing peace, development, and multilateral cooperation, noting that this strategic expansion of its ambassadorial network will help address pressing challenges in the Middle East and across Asia.
