Dubai: The sports events organized by the ‘Athletic Caravan’ initiative, affiliated with the Dubai Police Sports Council, attracted remarkable participation with 3,465 participants from Dubai Police and the wider community in its first week. These activities coincided with the ninth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2025.

Dr. Mariam Anas Al Matrooshi, Chairperson of the Dubai Police Sports Council, stated that participants represented various police sectors, along with significant contributions from employees of the Ministry of Defense and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. “Several sports federations also joined the initiative, including the Modern Pentathlon, the UAE Sports For All Federation, the Archery Federation, the Fencing Federation, the Chess Federation, and the Badminton Federation,” she continued.

Al Matrooshi indicated that the sports events offered a diverse range of activities, including target shooting, volleyball, basketball, tennis, padel, and tug-of-war. “Participants also had the chance to win valuable prizes through raffles,” she added.

Furthermore, she highlighted that the events featured a range of educational and awareness workshops, a performance by the Dubai Police Musical Band, and a K9 show that showcased the impressive skills of police dogs.

It’s worth noting that the ‘Athletic Caravan’ Fitness Hub is accredited by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and will actively participate in the Dubai Fitness Challenge through a range of sports activities, collaborating with over 30 sports federations and academies.
