54 Sidr Trees Planted at SPARK to Celebrate UAE’s 54th National Day

Sharjah: Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) celebrated the UAE’s 54th National Day with a special ceremony held at its headquarters, by planting 54 Sidra trees, to mark 54 years of the founding of the nation, alongside heritage-themed activities and entertainment programs.

Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, joined employees and representatives from companies operating within the Park’s innovation ecosystem, in different cultural and traditional activities that highlighted the UAE’s rich heritage and national identity.
The Sidr tree holds a deep significance in Emirati culture and the wider region, widely recognized as a symbol of resilience, generosity, and environmental harmony. Its ability to thrive in desert conditions mirrors the UAE’s own journey—one marked by perseverance, growth, and visionary progress.

This initiative reflects SRTIP’s commitment to promoting sustainable environmental practices and engaging its community in projects that reinforce social and ecological responsibility.
In his remarks during the ceremony, Hussain Al Mahmoudi emphasized the importance of the National Day as a moment of pride and reflection: “Our celebration today is a reaffirmation of our loyalty to our nation and our wise leadership. It is an opportunity to reflect on 54 years of remarkable achievements that have positioned the UAE as a global model in innovation and competitiveness. Planting the Sidr tree today symbolizes our commitment to sustainability and embodies the spirit of the union—one that builds, grows, and thrives across generations.”

The event created a festive atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of coexistence, collaboration, and shared purpose that characterizes both SPARK and the UAE. The celebration reaffirmed the values of tolerance, innovation, and collective achievement that define the nation’s identity.
